About This Cause
In 2021, the new MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver moves from dream to reality - an extraordinary community amenity located on the shores of Burrard Inlet, nestled in the natural beauty of North Vancouver, and shadowed by the North Shore mountains. The new Museum represents a dynamic period of change and growth. For over 50 years, our community has known the NVMA (North Vancouver Museum & Archives). In the fall of 2020, we were delighted to see the launch of their new visual identity and name: MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver. Friends of the North Vancouver Museum and Archives Society is the registered charity and fundraising arm for MONOVA with all donations eligible for a tax receipt. We’re honoured to support a treasured new community and tourist destination in the dynamic Shipyards District AND the excellent services at the Archives of North Vancouver in Lynn Valley. The Museum and Archives continue, as always, to operate as one organization with two locations, together strengthening our community - for today and for future generations. Your donations will go to support MONOVA in these five areas: 1. MUSEUM: Museum of North Vancouver (opening in 2021) in the new Lower Lonsdale/Shipyards District 2. ARCHIVES: Archives of North Vancouver in Lynn Valley EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: for K-12 students, and public programs for general audiences - on and off site 3. ONLINE EXPERIENCES: website features, virtual exhibits and archival photo collection etc. - nvma.ca 4.
