Mission Statement
Food For The Poor Canada provides basic aid and sustainable development to communities in the Caribbean and Latin America. We work to empower communities through five areas of programming: food, housing, education, health and livelihood. Our goal is to create prosperous communities where children and their families have what they need to flourish.
About This Cause
Since 2008, Food For The Poor Canada (FFPC) has mobilized Canadians and their generous support to empower communities across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) through international relief and sustainable development. As part of Food For The Poor (FFP) international, which has been making a direct, tangible and lasting impact for more than four decades, FFPC is committed to investing in the key areas of education, food, health, housing, livelihood and emergency response. By working with donors who share our vision, and a comprehensive network of local affiliated organizations on the ground, FFPC responds to the most urgent needs facing the LAC region. With this support we are building community and social infrastructure, sustaining and growing communities, and creating a brighter future for countless families. In the last 15 years, Food For The Poor Canada has built 39 schools, built 191 homes, and distributed over CAD $44 million in food, medicine and educational supplies.
