Mission Statement
THE MISSION OF THE SOCIETY IS TO PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF VISION CARE THROUGH EDUCATION, PRESENTATIONS, EPIDEMIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND THE DONATION OF EYEGLASSES AND PROVISION OF EYE EXAMS TO THE POOR IN OVERSEAS EYE CLINICS. THE SOCIETY CONTINUES TO COLLECT DONATED EYEGLASSES FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE EYEGLASSES ARE CLEANED, SORTED, MEASURED, AND REFURBISHED SO THAT ONLY QUALITY ASSURED PRESCRIPTION EYEWEAR WILL BE GIVEN TO THE POOR AFTER A THOROUGH EYE EXAM BY TWECS OPTOMETRISTS.
About This Cause
A 100% volunteer charity that provides free eye care and prescription eyeglasses to the poorest of the poor in the developing world. Our teams of eye doctors and volunteers pay their own expenses and travel with 10,000 prescription eyeglasses as their baggage. Life is hard in the Third World, can you imagine trying to survive without sight. Our projects around the world have provided restored vision to tens of thousands of underprivileged, who can now SEE to work and SEE to learn which means a chance at a better life. Thank you for your generosity in allowing us to continue our work.
