Mission Statement
The Calgary Stampede Foundation is committed to providing the youth of Alberta with the opportunity to develop strong roots in their culture and heritage through programs that enhance personal growth, citizenship and education.
About This Cause
The Calgary Stampede Foundation is a charitable organization that supports the development of youth of Southern Alberta through 9 areas of programming. Whether they're performing in the Calgary Stampede Showband, learning about our rich ranching history out at OH Ranch, or a 4-H member showing their project in the Nutrien Western Event Centre, our programs create lasting memories for everyone involved. Annually, over 2,000 young people from southern Alberta participate in first-class programming to develop their talents, character and leadership capabilities. From the high-quality performance talents of the Young Canadians to the one-of-a-kind educational experience of the Stampede School educational program, we continue to provide young people with experiences that will build life skills, positively shape their values and give them a genuine sense of community spirit. The Calgary Stampede Foundation is committed to providing Alberta’s youth with opportunities to develop strong roots in their culture and heritage through programs that enhance personal growth, citizenship and education. • Stampede education programs - first-class educational experiences offering students in grades 1-12 the unique opportunity to relocate their classrooms to Stampede Park and OH Ranch where they experience deep and innovative learning that promotes an understanding of western heritage and values. • Premier performance ensemble Calgary Stampede Showband and Showriders – musical training to young Calgarians who travel around the world entertaining thousands each year. • The Young Canadian School of Performing Arts - training in dance, voice, and performance by a diverse team of specialists who foster technical development, artistic creation, and performance excellence. • Indigenous Youth Program - Created in 2016, this program brings together Indigenous youth between the ages of 9-14. Program elements are introduced to build resilience and a connection to participant's traditions, through a range of fun activities. • Stampede Summer Camp - Our newest program brings together diverse youth at a week long summer camp where they can connect, develop a sense of belonging and have fun! With activities such as tipi raising, nutritious education and a visit to the historic OH Ranch, this camp serves to create a unique experience for Calgary youth, both new and established, to form connections and get to know their Calgary home in a whole new way. Currently we are seeking inspired donors to support the Calgary Foundation's core youth programming. We are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede Showband in 2020, with a focus on raising money for this inspiring program as they hit an exciting milestone.
