Mission Statement
Established in 2000, MEOW Foundation is the only no-kill registered charity in Calgary solely dedicated to helping stray and abandoned cats.
About This Cause
With nearly 400 active volunteers, MEOW Foundation is the only rescue organization in Calgary offering the three (3) core programs critical to helping stray and abandoned cats and reducing the homeless cat population. 1. Rescue and Adoption: At any given time, MEOW Foundation provides daily care for more than 200 rescued cats and kittens at our Adoption Centre and in foster homes. All cats receive a healthy diet, access to medical care and plenty of love and affection. Our adoption specialists work tirelessly to ensure that each MEOW cat is matched with the best possible adoptive family based on his or her individual personality and needs. 2. Trap Neuter Return (TNR): Since 2009, MEOW Foundation’s TNR program has saved the lives of feral cats in Calgary while helping reduce the homeless cat population. Through this program, feral cats living in communities across the city are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Later, these cats are returned to their neighbourhoods where trained community caregivers provide them with stable sources of food, water and shelter. 3. Spay/Neuter Assistance: MEOW’s Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) helps low-income Calgarians cover the costs of spay and neuter surgeries. Since 2006, SNAP has provided financial assistance to thousands of families, promoting responsible pet ownership and helping control the cat population. Your Generous Donations Help Us Save Lives!
