About This Cause
360°kids has been helping at-risk youth and their families in our communities for over 34 years. Our primary focus is providing aid and support to at-risk and homeless youth. It is estimated that on any given day there are over 300 homeless youth in York Region. Since our founding in 1989, 360°kids has continued to provide a full complement of over 23 programs and services aimed at assisting at-risk and homeless youth. Working from a preventative framework, we take a complete 360° approach to care, with a range of program and services focused on four key areas: Housing, Employment, Education and Health & Wellbeing. While family reconnection is our primary focus, when that is not possible youth learn the life skills necessary to move on to independent living. 360°kids serves youth aged 12 to 26. Youth seeking our services may be homeless or at-risk of homelessness due to family breakdown caused by abuse, emotional neglect, family dysfunction/breakdown, educational difficulties, and/or demographic barriers. Demographic barriers may include those who are LGBTTQ2S+, victims of human trafficking, indigenous, living with mental health issues or disabilities, and/or who are recent immigrants. Supporting youth mental health and well-being has become a major focus in our programing as gains made by our clients in this area have proven to be the key for their future success.
