Mission Statement
The Mission of the Edmonton Logos Society is to actively support Logos Schools to effectively train and equip students through Christ-centred teaching to be the "salt" and "light of the world".
About This Cause
The Logos Program is a fully funded, tuition free alternative program for grades K-9, at several Edmonton Public School locations in the City of Edmonton. A faith-based, non-denominational Christian approach to learning allows students to apply Christian morals, values and beliefs into all areas of study. A quality academic education combined with a vibrant and loving Christian environment provides a solid moral foundation on which students can build their lives. God is revealed to them in all things; in all areas of their academic endeavours, their school community and the greater community beyond the school doors. Daily prayer, scripture memorization, and devotions are woven into the standard curriculum. As the students apply these beliefs to all aspects of their lives, their own faith is strengthened as they move about in their world. The word “Logos” was used in the name of the society because of its rich Biblical meaning. As the Gospel of John says, “In the beginning was the Word (Logos) and the Word (Logos) was with God and the Word was God. …The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:1, 14a).
