Mission Statement

To provide networking, capacity building, and career development opportunities to environmental professionals in the Greater Toronto Area.

About This Cause

CEP Toronto is a chapter of Connecting Environmental Professionals (CEP Canada). CEP Canada is a national organization of local chapters dedicated to creating opportunities for emerging and established environmental and sustainability professionals. CEP Canada was founded in 1997 in Toronto as Young Environmental Professionals (YEP Canada) and has expanded to include chapters in the National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau), Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto. The organization completed its name change from YEP to CEP in 2013. Each CEP chapter is a not-for-profit, independent, volunteer organization with a diverse membership. CEP provides a positive forum for emerging professionals to meet like-minded people who also have a commitment to the environment, their careers, and their communities. CEP Toronto operates under three key principles - Education, Engagement, and Employment - as the foundation for its actions. 1. Education - CEP contributes to the education and increased capacity of its members by providing learning and development opportunities such as networking with other environmental professionals, monthly meetings, speaker sessions, workshops, and discussion forums. 2. Engagement - CEP facilitates engagement by establishing a forum for emerging environmental professionals to build relationships and find opportunities for leadership in their communities. 3. Employment - CEP supports employment by connecting members with employers, circulating job opportunities, matching members with mentors, providing career toolkits, and hosting workshops.
