Mission Statement
The Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre Charitable Fund (WNCCF) is a registered charity, which accepts donations on behalf of the Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre (WNC). Our waterfront community continues to grow at a rapid pace and the need for programs and services grows along with it. We face a true financial challenge, as 100% of WNC program costs must be raised each year through fundraising efforts. We love a party and host numerous fundraising activities with the help of volunteers – car washes, bake sales, fun fairs, art sales, tournaments and galas. No event is too big or too small and 100% of the money we raise directly supports WNC programs and services. We rely on donations and grants from individuals, community-minded corporations and foundations/agencies to finance all of the programs and services that we offer. Donations can be designated to specific programs or applied to the program with the greatest need.
About This Cause
Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre (formerly Harbourfront Community Centre) is Toronto Waterfront’s only non-profit neighbourhood centre. This waterfront community is the fastest growing vertical neighbourhood in Toronto and WNC programs mirror the community as the demand for family, children, community outreach and senior programs are on the rise. By engaging the community, we ensure that WNC’s activities meet the growing and diverse needs of our neighbourhood – now and in the future. Whether its fitness, dance, sports, arts, music, community gardening or social activities, WNC offers something for everyone, welcoming more than 245,000 participants to 620+ program sessions each year! WNC is a registered non-profit City of Toronto agency that is supported by a volunteer board of dedicated community members. We work in partnership with residents and community-minded organizations to create a safe and supportive environment for people of all ages. WNC finances 100% of program costs through fundraising efforts and is grateful to receive financial support from community minded corporations, foundations/agencies and individuals. Charitable donation tax receipts are issued by the City of Toronto for donations of $20 or higher. As a cornerstone of the community, WNC also advocates for the needs of this ever changing neighbourhood. Vision: WNC meets the needs of a diverse and changing multi-cultural community, responding to the particular needs of community members who are at risk, vulnerable, marginalized or isolated.
