Mission Statement
Mission: 1.Preserve the dignity, health and the quality of life of PLWHA as well as to reduce the transmission of HIV. 2.Provide a broad array of services for the PLWHA community and families with a spirit of social justice and charity. 3.Empowering PLWHA to develop into well human beings. Objectives: 1.Provide community-based services which improve the quality of life of those infected with and affected by HIV and AIDS. 2.Campaign for the human rights of those infected with HIV and AIDS. 3.Educate greater public understanding of the personal impact of HIV and AIDS, in order to break off the prejudice, stigma and discrimination against them.
About This Cause
Taiwan Lourdes Association was established by the Daughters of Charity since 1960s known as “Lourdes Home” and dedicated in caring for the orphans and disadvantaged children. At 1997, we had seen the massive influence of HIV/AIDS toward those people who are infected and their families. “Lourdes Home” started to switch our works to the HIV/AIDS agenda and officially registered as a NGO at 2006. Taiwan Lourdes Association is a non-profit organization. It has its main office in Taipei (north of Taiwan), a branch office is in Taichung(central Taiwan) and in Hualien with total of 30 specialized work force dedicated in HIV/AIDS related fields, providing various services for those people living with HIV/AIDS(PLWHA). It is our goal to improve the quality of life of PLWHA through our various care and support services and programs. We advocate for human rights of PLWHA. We provide community-based services for PLWHA in Taiwan and empowering PLWHA to develop into well human being. Ours Taipei and Taichung friendship Centers provide a broad array of services for the PLWHA community and family, welcoming over thousand of clients visit yearly from diverse groups from different ethnics and ages. We sincerely invite you to work together to create a friendly society for people living with HIV.
