About This Cause
Yu-Cheng was originally named “Yu-Cheng Welfare Foundation for the Handicapped.” It was founded by the Parents of Taipei Association for Mentally Retarded Persons with the help of public donations in February 1994. The original Yu-Cheng Foundation provided persons with intellectual disabilities with more direct services so that persons with intellectual disabilities and their families could have more diverse and humane placing services as well as closer community integrations. In August 2001, Yu-Cheng Foundation was renamed as “Yu-Cheng Social Welfare Foundation” in order to extend its services for Taipei residents to all the residents on the island.
