About This Cause
True paw (Prava šapa) is a non-profit organisation from Zagreb, Croatia. We are trying to save kittens and adult/senior cats from streets of Zagreb: find them foster homes, provide them with veterinary care, and try to find good Forever homes. We are carrying out TNR projects, neutering and spaying around 50 to 70 feral cats a month. Our main goal is to promote the sterilization and castration of cats in order to reduce the number of abandoned cats in the streets. Our organisation doesn't have a shelter. Most of the cats are located in apartments/houses of foster parents who care about cats. All the cats we accomodate were once on the street and abandoned, so by adopting one of our cats, you save two lives directly - the live of the cat you adopted and the life of a cat coming to its place in foster home. All our cats are treated and socialized: vaccinated, microchipped, neutered. We especially try to educate people about adopting cats with special needs, disabilities or chronic diseases (they too deserve a home, right?) We do not get any financial or any other support from the city or the state, everything we do is voluntary and with the donations we collect through Facebook page. We work in the area of Zagreb and its surroundings. You can help by donating food, transportation, and financially, or becoming our foster parent and help cats in the process of finding a new home.
