Mission Statement
Wikipedia is one of the ten most popular sites in the world. Its content and that of all other Wikimedia projects are created, improved and put online by volunteers. Wikimedia France supports their efforts mainly on Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata, the Wiktionary but also on other projects brothers. The aim of the association is to promote the free sharing of knowledge and because education is a vital need of our society, we work on the one hand with these dedicated volunteers, on the other hand with the institutions and actors in the political scene. Wikimedia France is an association approved by the Ministry of Education.
About This Cause
Without our community of readers, editors, and donors, Wikipedia would be just another website. We’re different because we don't belong to the highest bidder, to advertisers, or corporations. We belong to you. Votre don permettra à l’association Wikimédia France de se structurer et de s’investir dans différents projets, parmi lesquels l’augmentation du nombre de contributeurs à Wikipédia et aux autres sites Wikimédia, l’aide à la communauté des contributeurs bénévoles, ou encore le soutien à la production de contenus sous licence libre, grâce entre autres aux collaborations avec des musées (Centre Pompidou, Archives de Toulouse, Musée de Cluny, etc.)
