Mission Statement
Since 2005 Enfants du désert is aiming at helping children in the moroccan desert. In 15 years, the fight of the organization got bigger and now a lot of volunteers, companies, structures and events are supported Enfants du désert' programs. «Learning to read, write and count : a right for everybody» is the «slogan » of Enfants du désert. Morocco Education access Is the main purpose of our charity organization. Schools, preschool constructions, helping children through our «partnership» program, schools equipment with libraries, wells drilling, toilet blocks, private lessons in small villages to help disadvantaged children, school material donations are the kind of actions we are implementing to improve the education access for the desert children. For the women From 2018, we are implenting projects with and for women to help them to reach a financial and life independence. We realize goat farms, literacy programs and handicraft productions. Helping local economy For every project we are implementing we are working with local associations, businesses, sellers, workers : a way to help the local environment and create positive externalities. ARGENTINA Handicap In 2013, the association took off for another country and other issues to support. It is in Argentina that it provides support to children with disabilities. To do this, Enfants du Désert supports a local center which deploys therapies adapted to the pathology of children: equitherapy, cooking workshops, gardening ... Also, the association allowed the opening of a day center which educates 15 children with disabilities.
About This Cause
Enfants du désert is a French association Law 1901, founded by Laetitia and Emmanuel Chevallier in 2005. Initially, their project was to come to the material aid to children of the Moroccan desert in need. After a few years and a lot of efforts, their actions have gained momentum and their projects now provide comprehensive help to children. School aid, health, housing ... we also developp projects for women. Two people devote their time in France to the association, they are supported by around twenty active volunteers mainly in France. In Morocco and Argentina the association works with local referents to set up all its programs.
