Mission Statement

"21future - we want to help children succeed in life" Understanding how important competencies (personal, social, digital) such as curiousity, self-responsibilty and awareness are - and increasingly will be - in today's and tomorrow's environment, 21future strives to help school children understand, develop and apply such competencies as part of their school life. As its first core product, 21future has developed a one-week learning journey in which students pick a challenge (e.g. "smart with my phone; how to reduce waste at school"), jointly develop a solution in a team and then recap their learning journey in a video-style presentation. More than anything, it is our intention to actively engage with students encouraging them to become more self-responsible when addressing challenges in life - and helping them realize by themselves just how powerful applying these competencies can be. We certainly intend to develop good presentation videos - yet, more important than the final product is the journey. 21future is open to all school forms - yet we do favour working with students from comparatively underprivileged backgrounds. 21future is free to students and to schools - we believe that a core asset of a society is to provide valuable, relevant education to EVERYONE - regardless of their social status and financial situation. While currently focussed on two cities in Germany (Munich and Karlsruhe), 21future plans to gradually expand nationally and internationally - with the eventuel intent of becoming a community for students (and teachers) where they can actively engage, interact and help each other in their quest to develop and apply future-oriented competencies. The following video (in German with English subtitles) also help illustrate its mission: https://vimeo.com/252414596
