Mission Statement
Vision: Our vision is to transform the lives of children by enabling access and use of Music to trigger creativity, learning and social change in low-income communities and schools Mission: Our mission is to enable access to music education in government and low-income schools and communities for 1Mn children by 2025-26. Our Aim is to enable each child to realize his/her fullest potential and to give a voice to their dreams by building a happy and safe space for them. Theory of Change: Short-term: In the short term, we want to build a strong 2-year long unique educational cum livelihood initiative and fellowship for musicians to enhance their employability skills and build happy & safe space for children by increasing the accessibility and usability of Music in Education. Through music, the fellows not only enable access to music for children in learning spaces, but also execute an interactive music curriculum to use music to enhance their own learning and socio-emotional health. Long-term: In the long term, these young musicians will be nurturing an ecosystem of musicians and music lovers and giving wings & voice to the dreams of children. They will create a movement to make sure every child gets happy & safe space (physical and mental both).
About This Cause
Manzil Mystics is a Delhi based band and non-profit, formed by a bunch of talented musicians passionate about bringing social change and inclusion through music. We spread the all-embracing messages of Kabir Das and Mahatma Gandhi through the songs that we write, compose, produce and perform as a band. As a non profit, we are focused on using music as a tool to help people from low income families to empower themselves and their communities . Education, Gender and Livelihood are the three main domains we have been relentlessly working in since the last 5 years. We teach children from government schools to sing, write, compose and perform songs. Along with making them more confident and musically skilled, it enhances their cognitive and socio emotional skills, makes them more empathetic and increases their interest in learning. We create inclusive and safe spaces for children and young adults to express themselves freely as well as learn about topics like gender, menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, textbooks, languages, and different social issues, all through music. At Manzil Mystics, we are trying to increase accessibility, usability and sustainability of music for education.
