About This Cause
Born out of a belief that an enterprise can be Socially Responsible, Environmentally conscious and still be self-sustainable SVATANYA, provides ecofriendly product solutions, handcrafted by underprivileged women. When there was not enough work for the growing tribe of SVATANYA women, the initiative of Gifting soft toys to underprivileged kids was started. It served the tri-pronged objective of upskilling underprivileged women and providing them livelihood opportunities in addition to bringing Joy and Cheer to underprivileged ailing children. With several researches supporting significant positive physiological & psychological impact of Soft Toys on kids fighting Cancer, the drives started with gifting soft toys to kids with terminal illnesses in Jan 2018. Through SVATANYA (https://svatanyaindia.com/) 1000+ women have been supported over the last ~10 years and through SVATANYA India Foundation 2000+ children have been gifted soft toys and 2500+ masks have been distributed since the pandemic started SVATANYA has been recognized on several platforms viz. - Indian Women Excellence & Leadership Award at National women leadership summit 2019 in Vigyan Bhawan; Burgundy Achiever for Social Impact in 2018 by She The People at Bombay Stock Exchange, Social Impact award at 25th Mystique India Conclave 2019 at IIC Delhi to name a few
