Mission Statement
To provide pre-school and post-school education to underprivileged children as well as focus on the holistic development of the physical, emotional and intellectual aspects of a child’s life through setting up education centers, conducting life skills workshops, providing career guidance and creating livelihood opportunities.
About This Cause
Jaagriti is focused on empowering the less privileged sections of our society through education, skill building and health & nutrition initiatives. We are a volunteer driven, youth focused initiative which started in 2009 for bringing change in the lives of children of migrant workers. Since our inception, we have impacted the lives of over 500 children and been associated with 1000+ volunteers from all walks of life. Our initiatives are in areas of pre-school and post-school education, skill building, health & nutrition and community development. Recently, we have started a new initiative "Har Ghar Pad" campaign focused on ending period poverty by providing easy and free access to sanitary pads for the less privileged women of our society. We aim to distribute 100,000 sanitary pads and conduct menstrual hygiene awareness camps among the needy women in slums and rural communities across Delhi – NCR region. We are currently operating in Delhi-NCR region and have three projects where over 80 children study with us on a daily basis under guidance of 2 teachers. All our initiatives are volunteer driven which ensures more efficient utilization of the donor funds. We do not have any physical office and actively use social media to reach out and engage with our supporters, donors, well-wishers.
