Mission Statement
Maitrayana means kindness, benevolence, good will, compassion. Maitrayana is registered as a Not-for-Profit organisation under Section-8 of the Companies Act. Maitrayana’s vision is to work towards a gender equal society in which girls and women can exercise their rights. In order to achieve this, it is Maitrayana’s mission to leverage the power of sport to create ecosystems that empower girls and women to fulfil their potential. Maitrayana is driven by the values of Integrity (doing the right thing), Transparency (the right way), Respect (with dignity), Inclusion (with all, for all).
About This Cause
Maitrayana is a Not-for-Profit organisation under Section 8 of the Companies Act that leverages the power of sport to create ecosystems that empower adolescent girls and young women to exercise their rights and fulfil their potential. Through this focus on girls and women's rights, it aims at contributing towards a gender equal society. Every year, Maitrayana reaches out to more than 10,000 girls and young women, their families and communities in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore with its staff which is largely female and drawn from its alumni base.
