About This Cause
In the year 1966, four highly skilled dedicated post graduate medical doctors inspired by thoughts and teachings of Swami Vivekanand pledged to provide service oriented health care to the people in the then remote backward area of Marathwada in Latur. Initially, it was a private partnership firm but the operations of the firm were based on trusteeship conception and focused on Charitable Services to all strata of society. Later on, in 1980 it was converted into a Public Charitable Trust. The hospital was started in small rented premises with 8 beds and 4 doctors. On account of its innate qualities and support of the society it has progressed rapidly and grown into an organization comprising of multiple individually operating establishments listed below - • Vivekanand Hospital (VHL) • Vivekanand Cardiac and Superspeciality Centre • Vivekanand Cancer and Superspeciality Hospital (VCSH) • Vivekanand Rugnseva Sadan (Sanatorium) • Matoshri Vruddhashram (an Old Age Home) The organization is known for - A comprehensive healthcare center that addresses the needs of all the sections of society. This progress has been achieved without any commercial business approach. Good support from well wishers and benevolent donors has contributed to the success in a big way.
