About This Cause
ATMA Foundation is a non profit voluntary organisation in the social sector dedicated to community development as well as empowerment of individuals and families. ATMA is now spearheading 11 projects and 6 major campaigns. Over the years, ATMA has benefitted over 4,00,000 families through its projects and 2200 plus outreach events (May 2006 – March 2024). We are a fully compliant ISO certified Charitable Trust with 12A, 80G, FCRA and CSR 1 registrations. VISION Empowered communities where people lead happy lives with healthy relationships and serve fellow beings with compassion, for sustainable development. PHILOSOPHY : Living in Harmony Living in Harmony (LIH) is a practical philosophy of intrapersonal and interpersonal integration for Happy Living with Healthy Relationships. Conceived and developed by ATMA Founder Director C K Suresh, LIH forms the basis of all ATMA initiatives. AREAS OF ENGAGEMENT ATMA Foundation has projects, campaigns and programmes in 4 major thematic areas: • Care & Protection of Vulnerable groups • Education & Empowerment • Health & Wellness • Community Development Through various need-based and innovative initiatives, we reach out to different social groups, including • Children • Women • Senior Citizens • Adolescents • Youth • Families • Helping professionals ONGOING PROJECTS ATMA Gurukulam: Residential Care Home for homeless girls, with special focus on their education & overall development. (Reg No. 122/ JJ Act). ATMA Uyare: Learning support to underprivileged children across Kerala living in Child Care Institutions or with their parents. ATMA Digital & Financial Empowerment Centre: Promoting financial and digital literacy among the rural population, especially women and children, to accelerate financial inclusion and enable economic participation. ATMA CADC: Child & Adolescent Development Centre – A one-stop centre for children & adolescents who need Counselling & Remediation – integrating the professional expertise of psychiatrist, psychologist, counselor, LD remediator, Yoga Trainer, etc. ATMA FCC: Family Counselling Centre ATMA Service Providing Centre: Providing free legal aid and counselling for women victims of Domestic Violence, supported by the Dept of Women & Child Development, Govt of Kerala, under DV Act 2005 ATMA Yoga Peethom: Yoga Therapy & Training centre ATMA Kalakshetram: Promoting art as culture for happy living ATMA Vayobandhu: Helpline for senior citizens ATMA Research & Development Centre: Actionable research on social & psycho-social issues ATMA Gokulam: Cattle rearing as a culture and as livelihood MAJOR CAMPAIGNS Living in Harmony: Public seminar series, talks & workshops for happy living with healthier relationships We Care: Social awareness campaigns about issues rights, issues and empowerment of women, children and senior citizens. Saha Dharmam Chara: Premarital Training & Post Marital Guidance Workshops Problems to Possibilities: Seminar series to empower adolescents to harness their possibilities to overcome problems of their age – workshops and camps for students, parents, teachers.
