Thalassemia is a dreaded blood disorder where Red Blood Cells are defective and the body is not able to produce enough hemoglobin. Thalassemia is passed on to the child by the Parents if both the parents are Thalassemia Minors/Carriers/Trait. There are 25% chances in each pregnancy to get the disease Thalassemia Major child. Thalassemia patients have to survive on repeated blood transfusions and costly medicines.
