About This Cause
Charlies Animal Rescue Centre-CARE is a registered public charitable Trust that works towards the cause of animals in distress in Bangalore and surrounding areas. The inspiration behind CARE is Charlie, a 3 legged Indian dog who worked as a Canine Therapist with specially abled children for over 8 years. The CARE centre is house to animals of all kinds including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, pigs etc. There are the permanent residents who live at the rescue centre due to their history of abuse, special needs, blind, paraplegic etc. The other core activities are the ambulance service for injured and sick street animals, top class Inpatient care and treatment which also includes minor and major surgeries, hydrotherapy, laser therapy, fluid therapy etc. Once an injured or sick street dog recovers, it is rehabilitated and put back where it came from, whole and healthy. Adoption of homeless pups and kittens is another major activity. CARE believes that sensitizing the citizens of tomorrow i.e., the young children will have far reaching positive consequences for the future of animals. The Humane Education Program covers 20 schools every month. Animal Assisted Therapy is another important activity. CARE has an Exclusive cattery which contains an Inpatient Housing Facility, Kitten Adoption Unit and a section called Purrfactory for the 5 permanent Cat residents. CARE also has a dedicated Volunteering program.
