About This Cause
Sarada Rama Krishna (Shishu O Mahila) Sevashram, Village- Marjada, Post Office - Hotar, Block- Magrahat- II, 24 Parganas (South), Pin Code-743610 has planned to implement perceived Charitable programmes mainly in its operational District of 24 Parganas (South). The following are the programmes : 1 .Academic Education of School Student (Boys) Our Organisation out of orientation and long working experiences since 1968, has analyzed magnitude of rural poverty of small and marginal along with the landless families of our operational areas of South 24 Parganas. Remarkably grim poverty has been exaggerated owing largely to mostly saline belt with rain fed low yielding mono - paddy cropped. Other livelihood means of way of those people is insignificant. Obviously low status of life of villagers mingled with low educational background is observed explicitly. Despite that, it is a fact that constant price rise trend and narrower scope of rural employment have augmented vicious circle of poverty of weaker section of rural families, who find difficulties acutely to afford educational expenses for their children. To ovecome the low situational status, school students of poorer families living below poverty line(BPL) sorely need support. Under the perspectives, Such 1000 school students (Boys) of 50 nos. of villages under Magrahat 1, 11. Baruipur, of 24 Parganas (South) have been targeted in our planning (as girl students are being supported by other sources though not sufficient) for this year. They are to be provided with private tuition fees monthly basis along with school supplies including school bag, uniform, umbrella, shoe once a year. Poorer parents /guardians due to their low purchasing power are unable to bear fees of private tutor and the expenses of school supplies and other materials. This type of facilities will certainly ensure comfortable and enjoyable learning process. 2. Youths’ Skill Training Now a days, unemployment opportunity as observed in West Bengal scenario has been scare in Govt and Private Sectors too. Numerous youths remain unemployment in rural and urban areas . Gloom picture is noticeably seen in our operational rural areas also . It is a fact, skilled hands are yet in demand for various purposes. Keeping ahead in mind, a good number of youths of lower middle class and even weaker section of youths (BPL category) are undergoing different types of skill training with a view to availing scope of being employed in Industries, Institutions, Workshops, Firms, Business Houses and Service Provider Sectors. But for some reasons, they find financial hardship to complete the training course. Sometimes many youths are compelled to have dropped out in the mid way. This is the painful scenario. Our Organisation experiences many cases and realizes to render some financial assistance to vulnerable weaker section of training undergoing youths. Such 300 youths have been targeted to be included in our future projection . 3. Welfare of Destitute /Orphan girls Destitute /Orphan girls of poor families presently living in Sevashram as observed in West Bengal chapter are seriously neglected and even fall prey to atrocities in their daily life position. They are acutely deprived of basic needs of life owing to their miserable poverty and surrounding social condition. Their health status is remarkably low and obviously suffers a lot which hampers their study. Their guardians /parents are many times unable to provide medical and other expenses for their children. As a result, future life is gradually undermined due to various types of hindrances and troubles. In this prevailing situation, support assistance for medical treatment including basic health care amenities ie soap, coconut oil, tooth paste, napkin is sorely required with the purpose of wellbeing of 75 nos of poor girls students. Simultaneously yoga, socio- cultural advancement, tour, get to gather, orientation camp are also felt need for healthy growth and mainstreaming them in society also. 4. Charitable Service for Medical Treatment. Our Organisation is located at Marjada village of the Magrahat 11 Block, 24 Parganas (South)District. Our working District is mostly rural and basically rain fed mono paddy cropped with salinity of water that causes low yielding. Averagely 80 % of population depends on agriculture and its allied activities. Other substitute way of livelihood is meagerly developed, After cultivation and harvesting period, 70% of population remain unemployed. Moreover natural disaster is a common phenomenon in our 24 Parganas (South) District. A large number of rural population is confronted to meet the medical expenses even for general diseases. The facilities of Govt- Primary Health Centre is benefitting to low percentage of general masses due to many obstacles. In the open market, treatment is very expensive and it is very difficult to afford such expenses. In this situation, they face health hazards although the year. In consequences of that, ill heath, low capacity of manual labour, energy of work result in grim poverty in family .Our Organisation by analyzing the existing health status has planned to render Allopathic treatment facilities to weaker section of rural people . It is expected 500 patients are to be rendered treatment services by qualified doctor of the clinic (3 times a week; and we are trying to restore more effectively our running charitable Homeopathic clinic (Twice a week) with coverage of averagely 100 patients. 5. Assistance to Poor and Old Persons Presently socio economic health conditions old persons has been tremendously worse in rural and urban areas of West Bengal . Notably conditions of aged persons above 60 are miserable and painful in our working South 24 Parganas, because of preponderance of more than 70% population living below poverty line. Their main source of livelihood is based on rain fed single paddy cropped and characterized with marginal cultivators possessing more than half of cultivable lands. The old persons are deprived of basic needs of life and passing their days being neglected and dishonoured. Many times they falls prey to mental and physical atrocities. In order to save their life as well as to lead a comfortable life of poor old persons, service in form of optical treatment / operation is perceived by our village level field workers experiencing working with them . Apart from that, they need minimum garments and winter wrapper and blanket to keep up appearances of common people in village life. For want of money, they can’t undergo such treatment, purchase garments; and suffer a lot. We could organize them and offer optical operation facilities available Baruipur City Town located in our working District and treatment facilities are also available locally. It is to note that we get some donation from other sources and help old persons by providing dry food. 6. Fruit Plants Distribution Environment and ecological balance in our rural areas is being disturbed gradually owing to reckless application of chemical fertilizer and pesticide in agricultural lands, ponds, tree felling etc. Green coverage in our areas is depleting fast, but measures for cultivation of plants as noticed are taken scarcely by the villagers due to their lack of realization of conservation of Environment. Hence to aware them and motivate them toward need of plantation, fruit tree plantation as suited in our local climatic condition would be essentially result oriented , which would augment small ,marginal and agri-workers’ income level as well as environmental harmony would be restoring considerably. Under this perspectives, Such 1000 villagers have been targeted for this program. 5 nos of fruit plants (mango, Jamrul, safeta. Jack fruit, guava, coconut, lemon, lichu etc) of years long benefit will be distributed to them. Many nursery-shops are available in nearby Baruipur City market. Awareness building initiative how to nurse plants will be conducted with them. After 3 years onwards, they will be getting benefit economically and ecologically.
