About This Cause

SAMPARC: 35 Years of Transforming Lives with Compassion and Commitment In the year 1990, in a modest mud house nestled at the foothills of the ancient Bhaje Caves near Lonavala, a remarkable journey of hope and transformation began. With just seven orphaned children under their care and a heart full of compassion, Shri Amitkumar Banerjee and Smt. Lata Pande founded Social Action for Manpower Creation (SAMPARC) — a grassroots initiative born out of love, empathy, and the belief that every child deserves a future filled with dignity and opportunity. Our Vision Inclusive development of under-served communities in India with a focus on underprivileged children, youth, and women. Over the past 35 years, SAMPARC has grown from a small shelter into a nationally recognized social development organization that has impacted thousands of lives through its unwavering commitment to care, protection, education, healthcare, skill development, and rehabilitation of the most vulnerable populations. From its humble beginnings, SAMPARC now operates across four states—Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh—with a clear and steadfast mission: to empower the underprivileged and integrate them into mainstream society through sustainable development initiatives. The Government of India, in recognition of SAMPARC's dedicated service to child welfare, awarded the organization the prestigious National Award for Child Welfare in 1997, a testament to the vision, integrity, and tireless efforts of the founders and their team. Focus Areas of SAMPARC SAMPARC works through a comprehensive and integrated approach in the following key domains: • Child Development • Education Development • Skill Development • Tribal Development • Women Empowerment • Community Health Each of these focus areas is thoughtfully designed to address the interconnected challenges faced by marginalized communities, thereby fostering long-term impact and sustainable growth. Program Brief 1. Child Development SAMPARC operates fully licensed and government-recognized Children's Homes in Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Rajasthan. These homes provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for orphaned, destitute, and vulnerable children. Beyond basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter, the children receive quality education, medical care, emotional support, and life skills training to ensure their holistic development. The homes are not just shelters—they are families that empower children to grow with confidence, discipline, and purpose. 2. Education Development Believing that education is the strongest tool for empowerment, SAMPARC runs schools, junior colleges, and academic support programs to make education accessible to rural and tribal children. Special emphasis is placed on Mathematics, Science, and English, often areas where underprivileged students struggle the most. Through community-based interventions, SAMPARC ensures children not only remain in school but are also motivated to perform well, thereby reducing dropout rates and improving learning outcomes. The aim is to create first-generation learners who can lead their communities toward progress. 3. Skill Development Addressing the pressing issue of rural youth unemployment, SAMPARC has launched vocational and industrial training programs for school dropouts and underprivileged youth. Through skill development centers in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, young men and women are trained in electrician work, welding, fitting, cosmetology, solar technology, and computer literacy, among others. These programs are aligned with industry requirements and government skill missions, ensuring the youth are job-ready or self-employable, breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence. 4. Tribal Development SAMPARC works extensively in tribal and rural pockets to uplift marginalized families through livelihood support, legal documentation assistance, and facilitating access to government welfare schemes. The organization plays a critical role in preventing school dropouts among tribal children by offering educational support and residential facilities. By integrating tribal youth into mainstream development processes, SAMPARC helps preserve cultural identity while ensuring economic and educational inclusion. 5. Women Empowerment Since 1992, SAMPARC has been actively empowering rural women through skill training programs, awareness campaigns, and self-help group (SHG) formations. Women are trained in tailoring, beauty services, and micro-entrepreneurship, while also receiving counseling and financial literacy education. The goal is to foster economic independence and leadership, enabling women to become agents of change in their families and communities. These interventions also promote gender equity, safety, and social justice. 6. Community Health Services Good health is essential for development, and SAMPARC ensures that rural and tribal populations have access to basic and specialized healthcare. Operating a rural medical center in Malavli and mobile medical units, SAMPARC provides OPD services, seasonal illness care, maternal and child health support, eye and dental check-ups, and referrals for advanced treatment. Periodic health camps are conducted in collaboration with healthcare professionals and donor partners to bring expert services to remote communities. These efforts have positively impacted thousands of lives by reducing illness and promoting preventive care practices. Statutory & Legal Compliance SAMPARC maintains the highest standards of legal compliance, transparency, and accountability: • Registered under various statutory bodies including the Department of Social Welfare, CSR authorities, and under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). • Holds 80G tax exemption status, encouraging philanthropic contributions by offering tax benefits to donors. • Annual financial audits are conducted by M/s. Dilip Ghose & Company, ensuring fiscal discipline and donor confidence. Achievements & Recognition • 1997 – Honored with the National Award for Child Welfare by the Government of India. • Recognized by several state governments and corporate partners for excellence in social impact, transparency, and grassroots engagement. • Consistently appreciated by community stakeholders for transforming individual lives and entire communities. Conclusion: Lighting the Path Ahead SAMPARC's 35-year journey is not just a story of an organization—it is a story of resilience, hope, and shared humanity. It is a testament to what compassionate action, when guided by vision and integrity, can achieve. By addressing root causes of marginalization and offering concrete, life-changing opportunities in education, skills, health, and empowerment, SAMPARC continues to build bridges between despair and dignity. As SAMPARC looks toward the future, the mission remains clear: to continue empowering the underprivileged, one child, one woman, one community at a time—until every individual has the chance to lead a life of purpose and pride. We invite individuals, institutions, CSR partners, and government agencies to join hands with SAMPARC in creating a more equitable, inclusive, and compassionate India.
