Mission Statement

Deepalaya is a premier organization having a major presence in the National Capital Region, and well known for its activities in field of care of the children in the slums of Delhi and rural areas in Haryana and Uttaranchal. It is secular, apolitical, non-profit and non – governmental organization providing actual support to children below the poverty line in the slum areas where they are neglected not only because they are poor but also because parents lack in motivation as they are ill infirmed and they themselves had no education worth mentioning.

Deepalaya, is operational since 1979 to enable the socio-economically marginalized, to become self reliant.

Deepalaya is an ISO 9001:2008 certified NGO and operational in Union Territory of Delhi, Haryana (Mewat and Gurgaon District), Uttar Pradesh (Saharanpur) and Uttrakhand (Almora District). Deepalaya has been working in the areas of Education (Formal/Non-Formal/Remedial), Gender equity & women empowerment (reproductive health, SHG, Micro-finance), Institutional care, Community health, Vocational training, Differently Abled and training and capacity building, Empowering NGOs for over 38 years.

Till date Deepalaya has a mature presence in the locations and areas mentioned above. It is accredited and certified by “Credibility Alliance” India and regionally awarded for India NGO Award for consecutively two years in 2007 and 2008 for transparency and Resource Mobilization.
Educated over 2,91,351 children (average 12 years per child constituting 3292440 education years), 12216 given with vocational skills, 10,988 employed/self-employed, 1100 took to university education, 21 went abroad for higher studies, 21 returned to serve the Alma Mater, 59% children are girls educated, 1218 SHG’s formed with 14291 women who saved Rs.4.68 crores with a community revolving fund of Rs.9.27 crores, micro financing to a tune of Rs.21.46 crores, over 7692 micro enterprises established and consolidated micro finance revolving fund of Rs.21.46 crores, served 670,239 in health sector, provided support to 4510 disabled for community based rehabilitation and rescued over 1470 run aways and are being rehabilitated.
