Mission Statement

Sarada Kalyan Bhandar (SKB) is a Non-profit Public Charitable Trust created by a group of like minded women. The delighting spirit and life force of this Trust is selfless service towards the poor, the under priviledged and the backward community of our society. The inherent spirit that has drawn donors and well-wishers to stand by the organization is selfless dedication. SKB aims at rendering service to the youth, women, children and old mothers of rural India in the field of Education, Nutrition, Health and Environment. Currently this organization is running six projects. Its main target is to bring change in the society, however meager it may be. Since 1984 till date this organisation has supported more than 20000 youths and 10000 children coming from dilapidated backward community. The present beneficiaries are 1090 youths and children as on today.

About This Cause

Introduction: The motto and mission of Sarada Kalyan Bhandar (SKB) has been greatly influenced with the traditional culture and Indian heritage. The organization is blessed with the gracious shelter of Her Holiness Sri Sri Sarada Devi and Inspiration of Swami Vivekananda. Sarada Kalyan Bhandar is a all women voluntary organization working for youth, women, children and uncared old ladies in the field of education, nutrition , health care and environmental awareness. It is operating mainly in rural backward areas since 1984. Legal Status: • The Trust is registered on 21.07.1984 at Midnapore Sub-Registrar’s Office. • Enjoys U/S 12A of Income Tax Act, 1961 • Registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010 • Allowed Income Tax exemption for donors U/S 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961. • Registered under Directorate of Drugs Control, Govt. of West Bengal Motivation: • Clarion call by Revered Swami Vireswaranandaji Maharaj, the 10th President of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math for dedicating oneself for the welfare of the society. • Illiteracy among rural masses. • Women emancipation. • Raise voice against victimization of women in the society. • Negligence of girl child. • Cry of old uncared ladies. Pertinent Details: • Beneficiaries: Youth, Women, Children and old uncared ladies. • Income bracket: Rs.500 - 5000 per month. • Primary occupation: Farming, brick field worker, daily labour, godown coolie, rickshaw puller, etc. Main Charter: • Support financially needy meritorious students of rural areas for their higher education from Higher Secondary to Postgraduate including Professionals. • Improve non-formal education of children coming from backward rural community from Nursery to Class X • Arrange regular health camp and medical survey. • Organize Health care and Nutrition programme. • Care for orphan children. • Encourage women and girl child education. • Care of old distressed mothers. • Spread legal and social awareness among rural community. • Develop a value - based healthy society. • Organize relief work in times of national calamity. • Give medical coverage to youth, women, children and old ladies. Demographic background of SKB’s activities: Higher Education: • Provide financial assistance to needy meritorious students. • Interact on valuable seminars, competitions and classes on cultural heritage. • Support talents with rich library. • Provide primary medical coverage. • Support handicapped & blinds for their academic progress. Child Welfare: • Improve the lifestyle of rural backward children through education, nutrition, health care, medical coverage, environmental awareness and extracurricular activities. • Extend remedial coaching from Nursery to Class X. • Organize PT, yoga, drawing, music, dance and computer training. • Distribute study materials, books, uniform, winter clothing & school bags to children from Nursery to Class X. • Feed all children from Nursery to class X six days a week with nutritional tiffin and fruits. • Organize regular health check up and distribution of free medicines. • Organize yearly medical survey and medical camps. • Exposure to children organizing competitions, extempore speeches, quiz and paintings for wall magazine. • Enrich children’s library. • Ensure care of orphan children. • Arrange extra classes for drop out children. • Enlighten rural mothers regarding Janani Suraksha Yojana and help them enroll under the scheme. Women Self- Independence Promoting Scheme: • Spread women education. • Prepare women for economic stability. • Eradicate social evils. • Create awareness in legal matters for women. Girl Child Efficiency Development Scheme: • Talented girl children are motivated from Class II to Class X to make them grow with confidence, all potentialities of today become the women of tomorrow through education and other extracurricular activities. • Prepare the girl child to face the present socio-economic scenario with dignity. Literacy Drive Program: • Mandatory for all local students under Higher Education Scheme to extend voluntary service at Child Welfare Centre of SKB. • Outstation students are to participate in literacy drive program. Kalpataru Project: • Overall care including food for old distress neglected mothers. Gymnasium & Yoga training: Regular gymnasium and yoga training are arranged thrice a week, exclusively for ladies and children below 12 years old. Efficient trainers conduct the training. Spiritual classes: • Swami Shrutisaranandaji Maharaj conducts classes on ‘Sri Sri Mayer Jibani’ on 1st Wednesday of the month organized by Sarada Brati Sangha, Midnapore. • Spiritual Classes for ladies are held twice a month on ‘Mayer Katha’ and ‘Srimat Bhagbat Geeta’ by Prof. Tapati Sinha. • Sri Bijan Sharangi, one of our alumni & assistant teacher of Belda Gangadhar Academy takes classes on “Swamiji” once in a month for local students of SKB. Seminars: SKB organizes Swami Vireswarananda Memorial Lecture and Pravrajika Muktiprana Memorial Lecture every year.
