Mission Statement
To provide comprehensive support for Life and Living with a severe Acquired Brain Injury (sABI), empowering those affected by it to live their lives with dignity, purpose, and as much independence as possible. We are committed to deliver innovative (re-)habilitation programmes, advocacy, and awareness initiatives that enhance the quality of life of those affected by a sABI.
About This Cause
The An Saol Foundation was established in November 2014 by a family directly affected by the devastating severe brain injury of their son Pádraig to provide services to people with a severe acquired brain injury (sABI) who did not have access to similar services within the state. The core elements of An Soal’s service provision are not available elsewhere. The core function of the service - which is not available anywhere else - focuses on being a day-service for people with sABI, addressing an important gap in the provision of required services. An Saol does this in an innovative way and through an ethos which supports the realisation of rights and helping people physically, socially, and psychologically to function as well as possible. The service is best conceptualised as a Health, Wellbeing and Habilitation Service for people with significant needs arising from a severe acquired brain injury.
