Mission Statement
ADHD-Ireland’s mission is to make life better for people affected by ADHD.
About This Cause
ADHD-Ireland’s vision is a society in which ADHD is recognised as a complex neurodevelopmental difference, which is present from birth and can affect an individual across their lifespan, through to adulthood. ADHD should also be recognised as an individual difference where difficulties are the result of the demands in school, work, and socially, but changes can be made to improve functioning. ADHD should be recognised as a condition which requires timely diagnosis; leading to an integrated package of treatments and supports designed to meet the needs of the individual. There should be information and support for people with ADHD and their families so that school, work and institutional environments are adapted to meet the needs of the individual. There should also be an acceptance that ADHD is a difference with many positive aspects. ADHD-Ireland advocate that professionals and organisations should work together to make life better for people with ADHD.
