Mission Statement

We are here to teach core life skills through adventure and teamwork. From learning how to paddle or pitch a tent to leading a project or resolving challenges as a team, we aim to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose in young people. It’s leadership in action, rooted in empathy and real experience.

About This Cause

Donabate Sea Scouts: Building Belonging, Skills, and Stewardship The Donabate Sea Scouts are much more than a youth group—they’re a vital part of our community, creating a welcoming space where young people of all abilities can grow, lead, and thrive. Inclusivity is at the core of everything we do. We actively support neurodivergent young people by offering small group settings, flexible approaches, and a programme designed to meet a wide range of needs. By creating an environment that values every individual, we help all scouts feel safe, understood, and empowered. The group also plays a key role in protecting our local environment. Through regular coastal clean-ups and eco-projects, Sea Scouts learn the value of stewardship and develop a lasting respect for nature. Most importantly, the Donabate Sea Scouts help shape positive, community-minded individuals—future leaders who care about others, the world around them, and the strength found in working together. We are 100% volunteer lead and aim to create an environment when ambition and aspiration are encouraged and celebrated.
