About This Cause

South Dublin County Partnership is a local development company in South Dublin County, Ireland. We develop and deliver projects to tackle poverty and social exclusion in the area. We do this through working together with people, local groups and partner organisations to address the issues that matter most. We are seeking support for our Inspiring the Future Ireland project which is a free and easy way for thousands of schools and volunteers from the world of work to connect. Research shows that a young person, who has four or more encounters with an employer, is 86% less likely to be unemployed or not in education or training. Volunteers are asked to pledge a minimum of just one hour a year to talk informally in local schools about their job, career and their educational route at events, speed networking sessions or in the classroom to broaden the aspirations of young people. The campaign originated in the UK and has had great success since its launch in 2012, connecting over 30,000 volunteers with over one million interventions. Our special campaign in 2019 will be our Inspiring Women Campaign.
