Mission Statement
We started this club to help & support families like us living with ASD to help eachother learn and build friendships for life. We have built a community of families that are helping society to learn about ASD and become aware of it. The children and young adults here with us learn social skills and make friends, learn how to play and interact with others, build skills in our own ASD PROGRAMME , they connect through social groups and build confidence to acheive and overcome challenges ASD brings to them. We help their families learn and be able to support eachother. Our music programme helps the children to overcome sensitivities to noise and enjoy music , rhythm and dance. Our sport programme gives children a chance to build core muscles, balance and Co ordination allowing them to enjoy sport learn a sports skill and als build confidence about the sport. We are building a future for the children and their families while also showing love and support to everyone.” One child with autism is just one child with Autism, No two are the same and every child unique in their own way
About This Cause
We support and help families living with ASD. We run programmes suitable to the needs of the many children here. We support them with ASD Programmes built by ourselves and catering for individual needs, we build confidence and self esteem improving mental health for all the family. We provide therapies and courses for parents to learn and grow, we hold events and outings for families & we also support many special schools and ASD UNITS in cork. We teach students and we also give opportunities to students to come and learn with us. We advocate for families and we raise many issues in public domaine on behalf of Autism. We celebrate our children and we help many business and Centres learn about ASD.We are developing our own training programme and we are working hard to secure a New Home to house the many families that need our help and to help many more in the years ahead. We are devoted to our club and families here and we want and will work towards building this stand alone centre in cork , the first & only one of its kind Centre in the country . RAINBOW CLUB IS A HAPPY PLACE , we cry together laugh together and support each other always. We have built an ASD COMMUNITY working the community of Mahon and it’s a growing wonderful place. In 2015 we started with 22 children we are now over 3 yrs old and we have 650 families under our Rainbow Club ... our doors are always open and we will never turn a family away .
