Mission Statement
Gaelscoil an Chuilinn is a developing school established in 2012 based in Dublin Ireland. We are growing rapidly in meeting the demands for Irish language based education the area. Our aim is to provide an excellent standard of education through the medium of Irish, steeped in an ethos that promotes Christian values and Irish heritage. We hope to inspire every child to achieve their full potential by giving them a positive experience of education and encouraging them to be independent, tolerant, kind and confident. Our aim as a school community is to create a welcoming, cooperative, communicative atmosphere, in which we work together to give our students the best possible start in life.
About This Cause
The Board of Management of Gaelscoil an Chuilinn together with CAIRDE, the Parents’ Association, wish to provide facilities for the pupils in our care. Tyrrelstown and Hollystown both have great sporting facilities to meet the needs of its growing population. However, there is a deficit in service provision for those whose interests lie outside the sporting arena. There is no theatre space available to develop the arts and to promote amateur drama groups in the area. We have covered the costs associated with building the physical structure of the theatre. However, our application for the SEED GRANT APPLICATION arises from the help we now need in the costs associated with the fit-out of the theatre. The Board of Management and Parents’ Association set about fundraising for the fit-out of this community facility over two years ago and reached our target of €30,000 through varying fundraising initiatives from bake sales to sponsored parachute jumps. We feel that a SEED GRANT from INTEL would further help us to reach our goal. And 100-200 volunteer hours would prove equally invaluable in preparing the theatre for safe community usage. The school Board of Management fully endorse the project of providing a community theatre facility. It is a goal that we all feel passionately about here in Gaelscoil an Chuilinn and we will reach our goal! The theatre will integrate the Gaelscoil with the diverse population on its doorstep and in turn provide an invaluable asset for the community of Tyrrelstown, Hollystown and the surrounding areas.
