Mission Statement

Darb Al-Ein strives to create a much-needed change in the village Peki’in and its near environment by promoting a culture of tolerance, understanding, rejection of violence, healthy lifestyle and creation of new hope for a better future for the coming generations. The organization believes that sport is one of the greatest tools to advance and seed these values and wishes to gravitate the younger generation to various sport types by making those accessible in terms of facilities and education through a sports club that would eventually engage the whole of the society in the village as participants and supporters. The sports club will actively seek to create partnerships with the neighboring villages, regardless of ethnicity, religion and political orientation. Moreover, the club wishes to put special efforts and focus on girl and women participation and making the activities accessible to the older generation as well as the physically and mentally challenged.

About This Cause

Darb Al-Ein is a relatively young organization established in 2021, however, it has managed to achieve much more than those years would suggest. Its success can be attributed to a few factors, mainly, the vacuum it came to fill and the great eagerness of its founders and volunteers for making a change in their village of Peki’in. The founders, dedicated fans of different sports and some of them are active players, coaches and sport lovers with much love and loyalty to their beautiful yet struggling village decided to take action and naturally chose to do it through sports. They put the values of unity, tolerance, non-violence, health, education and development to lead their work aiming to make sports a culture everyone enjoys being part of in the village, thus nurturing good relations within the village, focusing on seeding these values within the younger generations, at the same time putting the extra effort needed to achieve increase in girl and women participation in full. The group has already been established as a fans association and became a very coordinated growing community that today includes hundreds of volunteers in big events and more active smaller inner circles that are busy year around with activities. In the beginning the organization started with volunteer work for the community such as renovation of kindergartens, cleaning of public venues that serve the community, holding tournaments for different sports for different age groups and create a space for socializing and community building by holding events to watch major games and tournaments such as the World Cup, Champions League and other similarly attractive sport events. Many of those activities were held in cooperation with other organizations and the local council as well as partners cultivated in the neighboring village, Arab and Jewish. The biggest event we managed to implement was the Race of AlleyWays, which was a running competition in the alleys of the old center of the village with hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators and hundreds of volunteers. The organization has gained much trust of the community and became an active part of the community by providing sport events and contributing to events that take place in the community in general. This community truly loves and enjoys sports and has a thirst for the activities of the organization which makes our impact great thus we hold ourselves highly accountable for the work we do. For that, we have gathered expertise within our circles that beyond extensive engagement with sports directly include financial and business experts, educators of different age groups, health personnel, nutritionists, development and strategy consultants. The organization holds the required certificate of “good governance” awarded by the ministry of internal affairs as well as clause 46A that gives tax discounts and deduction for businesses that sponsor part of the work. The organization is preparing to launch a sports club that would be a sports school for children and that would grow teams that would reach competitive levels in older ages. Here as well, emphasis on girl participation would be put. As the organization is building itself to be fully embedded in the community, the strategy would be that the community would be the actual owners of the sport club down the line through a membership program that would also constitute the major part of the budget of operating the club and its facilities. The founders are actively learning and creating partnerships to expand their network to grow rapidly yet in a healthy and sustainable manner taking lessons from successful models. The main factors for success of the organization and its project the sports club would be eventually the love of the community of the organization of sports and the village, and the vacuum they come to fill combined with the thirst for sports in a village that lacks recreational options for its community and especially the younger ages in terms of well-organized sports.
