Mission Statement
Made in JLM fights brain drain in Jerusalem by building community and ecosystem for Jerusalem's startups, techies and creatives. Our mission is to create and keep desirable, attractive, high-salary jobs in the city, and world-class opportunities for the diverse populations of Jerusalem, one of the most economically complicated, highest-potential cities in the world.
About This Cause
Made in JLM helps put Jerusalem on the map as a tech and innovation hub, and change perceptions by connecting the people who are proud to create in Jerusalem. * Made in JLM's strategic focus in 2019 is attracting more multinationals and attractive jobs. We were involved in bringing Facebook activity to the city and are working in partnership with WeWork to attract remote companies. * We run programs to develop an support local grassroots leadership. * We run award-winning projects like Side Project Club to help with city training and placement, and Society Labs to give, teach and develop technology for NGOs for free. * We collect the official data and research on the local industry and make resources publicly available through our various media channels. * We run the largest communication channels with Jerusalem's tech community spanning over dozens of Facebook groups, Whatsapp, email newsletters and more with over 10,000 members locally and 20-30k followers abroad. * We host tours and events to showcase the local tech scene, host Happy Hours, and run an ambassador program to share Jerusalem's story and put us on the global innovation map. Our activity has won recognition from Forbes (Under 30), The Marker (Under 40), Facebook (Community Leadership Program), WeWork (Creator Awards), TIME (Top 5 emerging tech hubs, 2015), Compass (Top 30 Tech Cities, 2015) and others. We work in partnership with leading global brands like Facebook, WeWork, Google, Amazon, Invision, Deloitte and more. Made in JLM leads a forum of community leaders representing over 200 leading Jerusalem tech organizations including accelerators, hubs, investors, universities, government, startups and more.
