Mission Statement

The fight against cancer is a matter of global concern. Each advance in knowledge, like a piece in a vast puzzle, brings us one step closer to completing the picture. Recognized as a formidable source of scientific innovation, Israel plays a key role in this worldwide endeavor. The Israel Cancer Association (ICA) aims to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality by waging an all-encompassing fight – through the promotion of research, prevention and early detection, improved treatment modalities and enhanced rehabilitation and quality of life. ICA supports cancer patients and survivors throughout their ordeal and advocates for their rights. During the COVID-10 pandemic, the ICA maintained its activities and continuted supporting cancer patients as they continue their personal fight against the disease.

About This Cause

Since its establishment in 1952, the Israel Cancer Association’s (ICA) longstanding activity in Israel and the broad range of areas which it has promoted have earned the Association continued recognition on a national and global scale, as the key player in the fight against cancer in Israel. The primary aim of the ICA is to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality and enhance the quality of life of cancer patients; its extensive activity is made possible through public contributions and is strictly independent of government funding. ICA plays a crucial role in the fight against cancer through its tireless efforts to improve treatment modalities and rehabilitation for cancer patients and survivors, and its advocacy activities to promote research, prevention, early detection and patients' wellbeing. The Association operates some 70 branches comprised of over 3,500 dedicated volunteers dispersed throughout Israel and touches the lives of hundreds of thousands of cancer patients, survivors and their families all year round. ICA received the "Presidential Award of Honor” for its numerous national voluntary activities. All donations received are transferred in full (no overhead taken), and hospitals are prohibited from deducting any overhead costs from contributions transferred to them by ICA.
