About This Cause
HOW DOES MAMA CHAT WORK A team of Psychologists and Social Workers volunteers are online every day to assist women victims of violence, fragile maternity, women with depression and anxiety, various psychological and social needs, and prevent the worsening of such conditions. Mama Chat helps daily by offering professional support while addressing the user to the public service in her city, where she can find help in her hometown, by enhancing the power of public and not-for-profit services in the Italian territory. The quality and the innovation of the service leverage on: All volunteers are experts and professional psychologists, granting high quality and access to a professional Correct information and women empowerment are the key aims of Mama Chat's purpose: to reach all women in need, offering a source of professional and correct information in an accessible and safe way, that promotes positive education and empowerment Using the power of the web to tackle violence and worsening of psychological conditions Being extremely accessible and easy to find online makes the difference: asking for help has never been easier MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS - Winner of Goolge.org Impact Challenge on Safety Online 2019/2020 - Winner of "Welfare Together 2018" as Best Welfare Startup in Italy, sponsored by Reale Mutua Assicurazioni, Wired Italy and Vita Magazine. - Awarded during the Wired Next Festival in Milan - Amongst the 100 Best Startups in Italy. Ranking by Small Business Italia - In May 2018 Mama Chat became partner of Save the Children Italy's national Network on Maternity and Infant Health, supporting "Rete Fiocchi in Ospedale" and has been recognized by STC-Italy as the most innovative partner in tackling women's rights and health issues today. - In 2025 the organization reaches 60.000 total beneficiaries WHY SUPPORTING MAMA CHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE Mama Chat is a new and young service, very eager to grow and reach as many women as possible. Our aim to reach more women and becoming the first European online service for women in need is possible only if we manage to engage supporters and create a change together. The demands are increasing and violence on women and psychological care are widespread in our Society. Nevertheless, the digital era in which we find ourselves in can be an incredible opportunity to reach all those people who have been excluded by the Society and that now benefit by access to internet and new media, hence reach all those women that Mama Chat is assisting daily in an easy, free and anonymous way. YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP MAMA CHAT Increase as much as possible our availability online, the goal is to get to 24/7 within few years in order to reach more women in need Expand and scale-up our service from Italy to Europe offering support in local languages Develop and strengthen our bond with local networks and Institutions, in order to grant an integrated and multidisciplinary support Add legal and medical experts Share our digital experience with other NGO's and services across the world and shape the future of innovation for social good
