Mission Statement

We, KnK, follow the below missions to realize our visions. We provide opportunities for education, vocational training, and self-expression to increase future options for children and promote their healthy social participation. We support children at risk due to poverty, political conflicts, and natural disasters and help them live appropriate to their stages of life. We encourage children in Japan to understand the current situations of children all over the world and learn diverse values to foster generations that know how to support each other.

About This Cause

Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi (KnK, Children without Borders) is a non-governmental humanitarian association based in Tokyo, Japan where we aim to support children and youth going through difficult times. The association was established in 1997 to implement its educational program for street children, disadvantaged adolescents, young victims of trafficking, youths under forced labor, minors in conflict with the law and those affected by natural disasters and military conflict. KnK promotes friendship and understanding between the world and youths in Japan: “Growing Together”. KnK has been recognized as Public Utility, which is eligible for tax-deduction in Japan, since 2010. KnK projects in Asia, Japan and the World Cambodia  House for Youth in Battambang: Self-reliance support for over 25 youths at risk (15-21 years old) through providing livelihood necessities and educational opportunity.  Educational classes (Literacy, English and library) for over 50 youth per day at House for Youth, and for children from the community.  Vocational Skill Trainings and Income Generating Activities in Battambang: Silk weaving, sewing, and tailoring for over 15 beneficiaries, mostly girls and women, who are the victims of social issues such as trafficking, poverty and abuse. The Philippines  Children Centers in slum areas in Manila: Non-formal education, recreation and empowerment activities for youths and parents.  House for Youth in Manila: Residential care for 15 children at risk providing schooling, non-formal education and psycho-social care.  Activities in a holding center in Manila: Providing activities such as group discussion on Child Rights and Life Skills in a holding center. Pakistan  Promoting Education for girls in Mansehra District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Construction of 7 public schools and providing training for teachers, parents and students committees in 5 villages in Mansehra District. Palestine  Provision of trainings on theater, music, art and psychological care for teachers in schools and Kids Center and support for activity implementation in the Kids Center in Jericho City. Bangladesh  Drop-in Center in Dhaka: Recreation and shelter support for 40 street-children per day in Dhaka. Jordan  Educational support for Syrian refugees: -Educational classes including music, theater, story writing, and career education for about 800 students in Za’atari Refugee Camp.  Project for enhancing education support activity model at public schools: -Launched a new educational project, which could grow sociality such as mutual understanding, normative consciousness and cooperativeness among students in 12 public schools in Amman.
