About This Cause
Who We Are: An NGO registered in Kenya by the NGO Coordination Board, that supports street-connected persons and also those who are on the verge of joining street life. What We Do: We offer socio-economic support to street-connected persons. Our thematic areas include; Education, economic empowerment, health, and welfare. How We Do It: Reaching out directly to the street persons or rescue/rehabilitation centers. Training other organizations that support street-connected persons. Safeguarding e.g. educating society on protecting street-connected persons from trafficking, harassment, and abuse. Via strategic Partnerships; Other NGOs, Government, Individuals and other informal partners e.g. church and community groups. Where We Do It: We are registered as an International NGO, meaning that we can flex our wings internationally. SDGs Alignment: 1-No Poverty 2-Zero Hunger 3-Good Health and well-being 4-Quality Education 17-Partnerships for the goals. Our Programs: 1. Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing We solicit and link street-connected persons to safe, temporary housing and a loving environment where they can regain stability, community reintegration and resocialization. 2. Health and Wellness We promote access to nutrition, comprehensive healthcare, mental health support, and counseling while fostering resilience through family reunions and climate-sensitive practices that nurture both people and the planet. 3. Rehabilitation and Substance Abuse Recovery We support compassionate care and holistic rehabilitation programs to support street-connected individuals on their recovery journey, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. 4. Life Skills and Education We contribute to the empowerment of street-connected individuals with education and life skills, i.e. by promoting their access to a library, IT training, digital literacy, and scholarships. Our goal is to help people unlock their potential and create brighter futures. 5. Child Rescue and Protection We stand as protectors for vulnerable children, rescuing them from dangerous environments and providing a safe, loving space. We advocate for their rights and work to reunite them with their families whenever possible. 6. Legal Aid and Documentation We assist street-connected individuals in securing vital legal documentation, ensuring they have access to opportunities and services that will enhance their lives and protect their rights. 7. Employment and Income Generation We boost their levels of employability and entrepreneurship by equipping street-connected individuals with business skills and technical skills in different sectors e.g. agribusiness, beauty, food processing, beauty, graphic design, etc., enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their communities. Our Levels of Support (In Principle): 1. Community Level (Preventive Approach) -Education, Poverty, Alcohol & Substance abuse, Peace & coexistence (Conflict & violence), Spiritual support, SRH, Digital Literacy, Climate Change 2. Street Level -Education, Basic needs, Counselling, Build rapport/trust, Rescue, Motivation, Talent search, Medical camps, Anti-drug campaigns, Spiritual support, Climate Change. 3. Rehabilitation Level -Education, Strengthening rehabilitation centers, Projects at rehabilitation centers, Life skills Training & Mentorship, Spiritual support, Climate Change. 4. Post-Rehabilitation Level -Education, Life skills Training, Economic empowerment, Reintegration & Resocialization, Digital Literacy, Spiritual support, Climate Change. 5. Corporate Level -Education, Training (empowerment and capacity building), Policy and Advocacy, Systemic changes, Collaborations & Partnerships, Climate Change.
