About This Cause

Championing Dignity and Rights: The Mission of Association Solidarité Féminine Since its founding in 1985, Association Solidarité Féminine (ASF) has stood as a pillar of hope and transformation for single mothers and their children in Morocco. Recognised as a public-interest organization by royal decree in 2002, ASF continues its mission to prevent child abandonment through the socio-economic reintegration of women and advocacy for the rights of women and children. Based in Casablanca, ASF has been unwavering in its efforts to support single mothers in distress, protect young children, and raise awareness of the consequences of child abandonment. Each year, the association provides holistic support to 50 single mothers and 50 children, offering services that range from psychosocial and legal support to vocational training and early childhood education. Empowerment Through Action ASF’s impact is grounded in practical, life-changing interventions. Its comprehensive support centre offers legal, psychological, and medical follow-up, alongside risk-prevention education for youth. The nurseries under ASF’s care ensure children not only receive early childhood development but also strengthen their bonds with their mothers. One of ASF’s most transformative programs is its vocational training initiative. Mothers receive tailored education in trades such as catering, sewing, wellness services, and cashiering—fields aligned with Morocco’s evolving job market. These income-generating activities are not merely training—they offer weekly earnings and a path to dignity and independence. A Proven Model The outcomes speak volumes. Over the past two decades, more than 21,000 single mothers have received support at ASF's listening centre. Nearly 900 have completed literacy and vocational training cycles, while 896 infants have benefited from nursery care. Impressively, 100% of mothers assisted by ASF keep their children and secure employment, breaking the cycle of vulnerability. National and International Recognition ASF’s work has garnered over 20 national and international awards, including the French Republic Human Rights Prize, the Opus Prize, and the World Bank's GPSA Award for social accountability. Most recently, ASF was honoured with the 2024 “Courageous Woman Prize” for securing legal recognition of marriage and paternity for a long-contested case. Join Us on the Path to Dignity ASF's achievements are the result of years of dedication, community support, and tireless advocacy. The association continues to champion the rights of the most vulnerable, guided by its founder’s vision and the collective commitment of its board, staff, and volunteers. Your support enables us to continue this vital work. Together, we can ensure that every mother and child walks a path of dignity, empowerment, and opportunity.
