Mission Statement
A Second Chance for Youth at Risk!
About This Cause
Since 1997, ACAY Missions Philippines has been creatively developing programs and innovative pedagogical approaches for youth in the Philippines, and all over the world, survivors of trauma and abuse to be RESTORED IN THEIR DIGNITY and EQUIPPED to face society and the professional world successfully. Our Vision: Metamorphosing Youths’ Lives Worldwide! Our Mission: ACAY offers holistic and innovative approaches of restoration wherein youth and families in difficult circumstances will re-discover the dignity and meaning of life and take the lead in becoming agents of change. Our Goals: 1. Provide a familial and nurturing environment that offers a sense of belongingness and safety which will rebuild self-esteem and dignity. 2. Enable youth and families to face the consequences of their traumatic experiences and difficult life situations through holistic interventions for the restoration of their psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs. 3. To empower the family in the restoration process of the youth. 4. Enhance leadership and equip youth and families with academic competence, knowledge, and skills that will enable them to be autonomous and face the challenges of daily living. 5. Develop opportunities for youth and families to acquire life values for the service of others. 6. Develop strategies which reinforce bridges among existing gaps in societal and cultural mentalities for the sake of restoring youth and families. At present, we have three flagship programs: 1. The School of Life The School of Life is a residential home that re-creates a family-like atmosphere for young women aged 16 to 21 who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, and other traumatic situations. Since 2000, 250 young women have journeyed in this Home. 2. The Second Chance Program The Second Chance Program (SCP) community-based program that for 20 years is catering to young offenders or Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) aged 17 to 23 years for them to reach successful reintegration into society and be ready for professional life. 3. The Family Program A support program which includes the parents of young people within the process of reconstructing the lives of their children while also providing training and coaching to the parents.
