Mission Statement
Every year, our support reaches 21,000 people. We help 365 days a year! IN 2023, THE CARITAS ARCHDIOCESE OF WARSAW ASSISTED: 836 PATIENTS We treated 392 patients in inpatient care - 157 in the care and treatment facility and 235 in the hospice on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street in Warsaw. The home hospices in Błonie and Grójec provided medical care for 444 patients at their places of residence in the districts of Grodzisk, Grójec, Piaseczno, Pruszków, Warsaw-West, and some neighborhoods of Warsaw. 241 CHILDREN 180 children in 5 specialized daily support centers (socio-therapeutic dayrooms) in Warsaw's Ochota, Ursynów, and Wola districts participated in educational and developmental activities. 61 children in the "Wings" program received scholarship assistance for the purchase of textbooks and additional activities. 413 HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS IN SHELTERS 355 women and men lived in two Warsaw shelters and received full-day meals, social, psychological, therapeutic, and legal assistance.58 individuals began independent lives, received social housing, and took up employment. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN HOMELESSNESS CRISIS 9,000 people benefited from hygienic-medical treatments and psychological and therapeutic counseling. Additionally, 15,720 hot meals were served in the soup kitchen, and 6,083 people used the bathing and laundry services. Furthermore, 150 individuals (bath, laundry, hygiene treatments) brought in by the municipal services of Warsaw were assisted. 900 people received immediate medical assistance. Caritas AW, in cooperation with the Ambulance from the Heart Foundation and in partnership with the Association for Help and Social Intervention and the Brother Albert Society, implemented medical streetwork. In Warsaw (West Railway Station, Metro Centrum station, and other non-residential locations), medical assistance was provided, wounds were treated by traveling to the sick in public spaces with an ambulance team of paramedics and a doctor, and homeless individuals were transported to hospitals and other facilities in Warsaw. AID TO UKRAINE 30,000 people, war refugees, mostly women and children, minors, and disabled individuals, received material assistance at 172 Wolska Street in Warsaw. From Monday to Friday, we distributed food, clothing, cleaning supplies, and assisted with the provision of medicines and medical supplies as well as other daily necessities. We sent 20 humanitarian aid transports directly to Drohobych, Lviv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv. OTHER PEOPLE IN NEED 2,000 people received individual assistance, including 533 for the purchase of medicines, rehabilitation equipment, and household appliances. Rehabilitation stays and specialist treatments were funded. 300 seniors received assistance in the form of free lunches and monthly shopping cards. Additionally, several thousand people received help and support in parishes of the Archdiocese of Warsaw through 123 Parish Caritas Teams, which purchased and delivered food, medicines, and holiday packages.

It provides assistance in 3 main areas: medical activities, activities for the benefit of the homeless and supporting out-of-school activities for children as part of socio-therapeutic day care centers. Godebskiego 2: - Home hospice (HD) PLACES FOR HOMELESS AND POOR 1. “Tylko/Only” Charity Center in Warsaw: - shelter for homeless men and women, - training flats, including from 1.12.2018 also at different addresses outside the Center, - public bath, - public diner - streetworking with an emphasis on medical-type services. 2. Shelter "Przystań" in Warsaw: - a shelter for homeless men; - a specialized shelter for homeless men; - training flats (change of address from 1.12.2018). 3. A shelter for homeless men in Pieńki Zarębskie. 4. Cafeteria in Grójec: a warm meal for people referred by the Grójec Municipal and Social Welfare Center.
