Mission Statement
Inimi Speciale ("Special Hearts") was funded to provide life-saving support to children diagnosed with rare and severe medical conditions. We are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their health challenges, has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling and dignified life. Through fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement, we strive to bridge the gap between urgent medical needs and the resources required to meet them.
About This Cause
Asociatia "Inimi Speciale" ("Special Hearts") was founded on March 11th, 2025, out of a deeply personal need to fight for the life of our daughter, Maria — a little girl born with a severe congenital heart defect and a rare genetic condition known as ZTTK syndrome. After witnessing her courage through multiple open-heart surgeries in Italy and facing the overwhelming emotional and financial challenges of securing life-saving treatment abroad, we realized how many other families are silently enduring the same pain in hospital corridors — feeling helpless, unheard, and without options. This organization was born from that experience — to give Maria a real chance at life, and to become a voice and support system for other children with complex medical needs. Despite undergoing three open-heart surgeries in Italy, Maria requires a specialized surgical intervention available only at Boston Children’s Hospital, with an estimated cost of $361,000. With a limited timeframe of approximately three months to secure the necessary funds, we are mobilizing efforts to provide Maria with the chance for a healthier future. Our mission is to raise funds, awareness, and hope for those who face rare, life-threatening diagnoses but still dream of a normal childhood. Through transparent fundraising campaigns and community involvement, Asociația "Inimi Speciale" ("Special Hearts") aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of children facing extraordinary health challenges.
