Mission Statement

Founded in 1992 in Iași, Romania, EuroEd Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to the belief that education is the cornerstone of a flourishing and inclusive society. For over 30 years, EuroEd has committed itself to the continuous learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We aim to harness the potential of every individual, viewing human capacity as a multifaceted resource comprising knowledge, skills, competencies, and ideas that foster sustainable development. Our work is driven by a dedication to promoting high-quality education, social inclusion, and personal empowerment for all, especially those who face barriers in accessing educational opportunities. At EuroEd, we believe that education should be available to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic background, race, gender, or personal circumstances. Our mission is twofold: to ensure personal and professional development for every individual and to create pathways for social integration for marginalized groups. We support and empower disadvantaged people, including refugees, socially marginalized communities, children with exceptional talents, and individuals facing economic hardships, by providing them with educational opportunities that promote sustainable development. EuroEd Foundation operates with a vision of building a more inclusive and cohesive society by: • Providing high-quality educational programs and resources to socially disadvantaged groups. • Ensuring equal access to professional and personal development opportunities. • Creating sustainable pathways to success through innovative projects focused on innovative education, creativity, inclusion, digitalization, and environmental and civic responsibility. EuroEd’s relevant experience lies with coordinating and participating in EU funded projects, as well as in strategies and methodologies of cooperation at local, regional, national and transnational level. In 1998, also as a result of constantly growing services and addressability, we founded Centre for European Integration, through which until now, EuroEd coordinated and implemented over 100 national and international educational projects. Projects implemented are in the field of learning languages for specific purposes, online resources development, creative educational materials development, games and drama techniques, networks, employability, development of competences for job profiles, social inclusion, digitalization, emotional intelligence, medicine, motivation and support, promoting quality in developing European projects, sports, social responsibility and volunteering, etc. EuroEd Foundation places special emphasis on supporting those most at risk of education exclusion. We understand the transformative power of education and aim to use it to uplift people from disadvantaged backgrounds, such as: • Refugees and Migrants: We work tirelessly to help refugees and displaced people (e.g. Ukrainians) integrate into society through tailored educational programs. By providing them with essential language skills, vocational training, psychological support and basic survival material resources, we help them rebuild their lives and find new opportunities for growth and integration. This work is vital to fostering an inclusive society where everyone, regardless of their past, can thrive. • Socially Marginalized Communities: We seek to break the cycle of poverty and marginalization by offering specialized programs designed to improve educational outcomes and enhance employability. This includes access to literacy programs, digital skills training, and educational mentoring that opens doors to a better future. • Talented and Gifted Children from Low-Income Families: EuroEd believes that talent should never be constrained by financial barriers. Through specialized programs, centers of excellence, scholarships, and mentoring, we ensure that gifted children have the tools and support they need to reach their full potential. One of EuroEd’s primary goals is to serve as a regional catalyst for change, encouraging debate, collaboration, and the development of new ideas that promote democracy and societal development. Through our regional and international projects, we facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices among educators, policymakers, and civil society stakeholders. The impact of EuroEd Foundation’s work cannot be overstated. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and social exclusion, and with collaborators support, we can continue to provide life-changing opportunities to those who need them most, by: • Enhancing our ability to reach marginalized communities of refugees and foster greater social inclusion. • Offering scholarships and financial assistance to talented children from rural areas or low-income families.

About This Cause

EuroEd Foundation’s commitment to education and social inclusion has never been more critical. In a world where many are left behind due to economic or social barriers, we stand as a beacon of hope, providing the support and resources necessary to empower individuals and promote the access to education and especially to an education through excellence. With your help, we can continue to create transformative opportunities and build a more inclusive, educated, and sustainable society for all. Join us in our mission to make education accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, and help us change lives, one person at a time. As mentioned previously, EuroEd Foundation’s mission is to develop support and educational actions for 2 dimensions: • Offering scholarships and financial assistance to talented children from rural areas or low-income families. • Enhancing our ability to reach marginalized communities of refugees (e.g. Ukrainians) and foster greater social inclusion. Charity for Increasing Access to Education for Rural and Low-Income Children and Supporting Excellence and Preparation for Academic Performance through Scholarships In today’s fast-paced and increasingly globalized world, ensuring access to high-quality education for children from rural areas and low-income families is crucial to reducing inequality and fostering sustainable development. The educational gap between children from urban and rural areas or from affluent and low-income families is a persistent issue that continues to widen, limiting opportunities for those who need education the most. By offering scholarships and financial support to talented children and providing targeted programs to disadvantaged communities, we can address some of these key challenges and work toward greater social inclusion. Access to quality education remains a significant challenge in rural areas and low-income households, where children face numerous barriers that limit their academic potential. In Romania, as in many parts of Europe and the world, children from rural communities experience considerable disparities in access to educational resources, infrastructure, and opportunities compared to their urban peers. These dramatic gaps points to serious disparities in educational outcomes, which directly affect children’s future employment and socio-economic prospects. Children from low-income families are at higher risk of dropping out of school. The Romanian National Institute of Statistics has reported that about 38% of children in Romania live at risk of poverty or social exclusion. Poverty is a major driver of dropout rates, with many families unable to afford school supplies, transportation, or even basic necessities. In 2023, the early school dropout rate in Romania stood at 15.6%, significantly above the EU average of 9.9%. Despite these challenges, many children in rural areas and low-income families demonstrate exceptional academic talents and potential. However, without financial support and targeted interventions, their ability to pursue higher education or specialized programs that nurture their talents is severely limited. Scholarships can be a lifeline for these children, providing them with the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and pursue academic excellence. EuroEd Foundation along the years put effort by providing financial support for ensuring scholarships to help reduce the financial burden on families from rural areas, enabling children to continue their education and focus on achieving academic excellence. The charity EuroEd is involved in, is within the ProRuralis program (https://www.proruralisiasi.ro/), through the project "Scholarships for rural students with a higher intelligence quotient from disadvantaged rural families", where, for the first time in Romania, the community participated, directly, in saving from the ignorance of some of the best children in the country and facilitating their access to a quality education that, due to the poverty of the families of origin, was denied to them. EuroEd financially supported the schooling of students from rural areas, in private schools that can offer talented students the quality education to help them perform. At the same time, EuroEd worked in developing new opportunities for talented students who lack the financial resources to pursue their academic goals, by creating educational programs like, CECS - The Center for Quality Education in School EuroEd, addressed to fourth-grade students from the entire Iași county, to provide them with special training, focused on their skills and preparing them for excellence in Mathematics, Romanian language and introduction to Chinese language. EuroEd has already played a key role in supporting such students and facilitating access to high-quality education, but the financial support is dedicated to not only providing immediate financial aid, but also promoting sustainable and increasing the number of students access to qualitative education for long-term development in education. And for this reason, EuroEd is making advocacy and fundraising efforts as being crucial for ensuring the continued availability of scholarships and educational programs for disadvantaged students, including all the needed resources and supplies to ensure an efficient program. By raising awareness about the challenges faced by rural and low-income children, EuroEd seeks to mobilize resources and foster a culture of inclusion and support. Investing in education for children from rural areas or low-income families is not just an act of social responsibility but a necessity for creating a more equitable and prosperous future. Educational inequality perpetuates the cycle of poverty, limits economic growth, and exacerbates social divisions. By offering scholarships, supporting excellence in education, and improving access to resources, institutions like yours can help transform lives and communities. In this perspective, the aim of the proposed charity is to support our organization to continue to identify and offer scholarships to the children from rural, low-income families, who demonstrate extraordinary academic abilities or talents in specific areas. Without access to specialized programs and resources, their talents may go unrecognized or undeveloped. By offering scholarships for these talented children, we can ensure they receive the mentorship, coaching, and advanced education necessary to help them excel. Charity for Advocating for Greater Social Inclusion and Access to Quality Education for Refugees The influx of refugees, particularly in the context of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, has brought to the forefront the critical need for enhanced social inclusion and access to quality education for displaced individuals. As these refugees, including children, families, and individuals, attempt to rebuild their lives in new host countries, the importance of providing comprehensive support through education and social services cannot be overstated. EuroEd is committed to making this a priority, addressing the specific educational needs of refugee communities and advocating for their successful integration into society. EuroEd is already involved in organizing refugee support initiatives and aid for the humanitarian crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine. EuroEd provided one meal a day to Ukrainian refugees in Iasi and collected donations from local and international sponsors and sent several truckloads of food, clothes, sanitary products, household items, toys to the more than 1,000 refugees (parents, children, orphans) sheltered in the suburbs of Chernivtsi and neighbouring towns. EuroEd offered also scholarships for 3 Ukrainian children. During the period 12.2022-06.2023, EuroEd implemented the project EDUCARE -"Educational Activities Center for Ukrainian refugees in Iasi", financed by the program Steps towards solidarity and inclusion. The project involved 50 refugee children from Ukraine, of different ages and 30 refugee adults from Ukraine in the following activities: For children/students: language courses (Romanian and English), practical skills classes (art), music and movement classes, social-emotional integration activities (various games, art activities, Christmas party). For adults: language courses (Romanian and English), vocational counselling courses and integration into the labour market. EuroEd Foundation recognizes that education is a powerful tool for integration and empowerment, and we are committed to advocating for and delivering educational programs that address the unique challenges faced by refugee communities. Through scholarships, financial aid, and access to educational materials, EuroEd can help alleviate the financial burdens faced by refugee families, ensuring that children and adults alike can pursue education without undue stress or financial hardship. At EuroEd we believe that education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, fostering social inclusion, and unlocking the potential of every individual, regardless of their circumstances. This charity seeks to bridge the educational gap for children in rural areas and from low-income families who face significant barriers to quality education. By providing scholarships, financial support, and targeted programs, we aim to ensure that every child has the opportunity to excel academically, regardless of their socio-economic background. Your donations will enable us to reduce dropout rates, support talented students, and empower these young individuals to pursue their dreams of academic and professional success. At the same time, with millions of refugees displaced by conflict and crisis, including the ongoing war in Ukraine, the need for social inclusion and access to quality education has never been more critical. This charity focuses on supporting refugee children and adults by providing access to education, language training, psychosocial support, and vocational programs. Your contributions will help refugees integrate into their new communities, rebuild their lives, and become productive, empowered members of society.
