Mission Statement
H.O. KOLEVKA is a Serbian charitable organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting vulnerable populations within Serbia. Our mission is rooted in the cultural traditions of Serbia, and we strive to provide comprehensive assistance to those in need, particularly individuals and families facing economic hardship, health challenges, and social isolation. Our primary mission is to provide support, assistance, and aid to socially vulnerable individuals and families. At the heart of our mission is the commitment to offer holistic support to those in distress. We aim to embody the values of compassion, solidarity, and community welfare, ensuring that aid reaches the most marginalized segments of society. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term well-being, H.O. KOLEVKA seeks to foster a society where every individual has the opportunity to lead a dignified and fulfilling life. Beyond direct humanitarian efforts, which is definitely our priority, we place a strong emphasis on volunteer engagement, particularly among young people, encouraging them to take an active role in charitable work. We believe that volunteerism not only helps those in need but also nurtures empathy and strengthens social bonds, contributing to a more united and compassionate society. While helping those in need remains our core objective, we also focus on broader social impact. This includes supporting education, particularly for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as working to improve the environment and promote sustainable living. About This Cause
Charity Organization Kolevka was founded on April 3rd, 2019, with the primary aim of helping vulnerable populations in Serbia. The organization was founded by three, at the time, 18-year-olds- Mateja Ranković, Milutin Ružić and Aleksa Isaković. Since “Kolevka” was founded, in 2019, we have managed to bring together a solid group of 50 young volunteers and provide over 11.000 socially vulnerable individuals with humanitarian aid. Besides that, we have managed to successfully organize numerous projects, lectures, charity tournaments, etc. The organization focuses on providing support to individuals and families facing difficult social, economic, and health challenges. Through a combination of humanitarian aid, community empowerment, and a strong emphasis on education, Kolevka works tirelessly to promote social solidarity and create a more inclusive, compassionate society. Kolevka was established with the vision of creating long-lasting change in the lives of those who struggle with poverty, illness, and social exclusion. The name "Kolevka," which translates to "cradle" in English, symbolizes care, nurture, and the organization’s dedication to providing support, help and assistance for those in need. Since its founding, Kolevka has become a pillar of hope for many and has significantly impacted the lives of vulnerable individuals throughout Serbia. The mission of Charity Organization Kolevka is to provide immediate humanitarian aid to those who need it the most. The organization is committed to the values of solidarity, compassion, and social responsibility. Besides directly providing the socially vulnerable groups with humanitarian aid, we also aim to emphasize the importance of having communication and listening to their problems, as they usually live in rural and secluded areas and don’t have any visitors for very long periods of time. From its very beginning, Kolevka has organized and executed a variety of humanitarian initiatives that provide immediate assistance to individuals facing hardship. Some of the notable actions include: Donating food, shoes, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene products to the Sveti Petka Monastery in Paraćin, visiting and assisting orphanages such as "Moša Pijade" and "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj", distributing New Year’s gifts to children from the "Svratište" shelter, donating medical masks to the "Dr. Vukan Čupić" Institute for Mother and Child, actively participating in blood donation campaigns.. In addition to these actions, Kolevka has implemented 9 big projects across various regions of Serbia-"Kolevka for Kuršumlija", "Kolevka for Stara Planina", "For a Cleaner Serbia", "Kolevka for Čačak", "Kolevka for Tutin", "Kolevka for Vranje", "Kolevka for Leskovac", "Kolevka for Vladičin Han" and "Kolevka for Priboj". These initiatives reflect the organization’s commitment to reaching underserved communities across the country and offering much-needed assistance in both urban and rural areas. Kolevka’s work goes beyond providing immediate humanitarian aid. The organization also places a strong emphasis on the engagement and empowerment of young people through volunteerism. By involving youth in humanitarian activities, Kolevka fosters a culture of giving and social responsibility, while also raising awareness about the challenges faced by vulnerable groups in society. Through volunteerism, young people develop valuable life skills, build empathy, and become active contributors to positive social change. Volunteers play a vital role in delivering services, organizing events, and supporting beneficiaries.
