Mission Statement
Centre 42 is a non-profit theatre organisation in Singapore committed to the creation, documentation and promotion of text-based works for the stage. Our mission is to: + nurture talent and incubate content of text-based works for the stage; + build public awareness and appreciation for Singapore theatre; and + be a focal point for research, documentation and critical discourse on the development of Singapore theatre.
About This Cause
As a theatre development space and intermediary, we incubate original writings for the stage, support the development of artists and new works, and develop and maintain a functional archive documenting the histories and processes of Singapore theatre. Since 2014, We've journeyed alongside 170+ artists and theatre collectives, supported 200+ new theatrical projects to the finish line, and welcomed 40,000+ audience members to theatre. With your unwavering support over the past 8 years, we are proud to have contributed to a thriving ecosystem for theatre-making. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CONTINUE GROWING THE THEATRE SCENE. As a direct grant recipient of the National Arts Council (Singapore) for FY2023-2025, we are partially funded for our work. We still need to raise at least 45% of our annual operations costs in order to sustain year on year. Help us reach our annual fundraising target of $42,000. Every contribution a donor makes enables us to continue developing Singapore's theatre ecosystem through our myriad of programmes and initiatives that support independent artists and arts groups. Every dollar donated allows us to apply for a matching grant under the Cultural Matching Fund scheme. That is to say, we are able to double the impact of your donation!
