Mission Statement
We believe in a society where every migrant worker lives a life of dignity
About This Cause
Founded in Singapore in 2006, HealthServe has met the needs of tens of thousands of migrant workers through the provision of medical care, counseling, case work, social assistance and other support services. We run 3 clinics and 3 centres across Singapore where we work to address the complex and intertwined needs of migrant workers - from medical to legal, physical to emotional, mental to social. Our mission: - To serve disadvantaged migrant workers in Singapore through healthcare, counseling, casework and social assistance. - To advocate for and raise awareness of the needs of migrant workers. - To bridge communities through meaningful partnerships and being a platform for effective volunteerism. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ APR 24TH 2020 - UPDATE HEALTHSERVE LAUNCHES MENTAL WELL BEING INITIATIVES FOR MIGRANT WORKERS IN SINGAPORE • 24-hour helpline, virtual counselling service and COVID-19 website launched to support migrant workers community • Dormitory and Community Isolation Facility engagement initiatives to improve mental and emotional well being for both workers and the ops team in isolation areas. • Support to Factory Converted Dormitories (FCDs) alongside our NGO partners • Public invited to post messages of support for migrant workers on Solidarity Wall • Coordinating with hospitals and medical teams on the ground to share out mental health resources. "With anxiety, fear, loneliness and boredom mounting among migrant workers in isolation, HealthServe is harnessing digital technology across multiple channels to bridge the gaps in information dissemination and complement on-ground outreach efforts. These include a 24-hour helpline, a virtual counselling clinic and a COVID-19 microsite, launched within a week in collaboration with corporate partners and individuals. Leveraging HealthServe’s 14 year medical expertise, these multi-level initiatives are the first-of-its-kind in Singapore aimed at supporting the mental and emotional well-being of the migrant community."
