Mission Statement
Our mission is to bring an end to the abuse and neglect of small exotic monkeys – caused by general public unawareness and the prolific increase in the keeping, breeding and trading of exotic animals for the predominantly ignorant and unlegislated pet industry.
About This Cause
WHAT WE DO: Our Sanctuary is a non-profit organisation providing permanent care for displaced, unwanted, rescued, abused & neglected small exotic monkeys in a happy, healthy and safe environment. We strive to give them the specialised care that they require. We feel that by us only caring for the monkeys that we have already rescued won't stop the same abuse or neglect from happening again in the future. We would only be dealing with the symptoms and not the actual problem itself. This is why we have two core areas of focus: Specialised Care and Education. SPECIALISED CARE: These small exotic monkeys are not domesticated animals. They are wild animals and have special physical, emotional and mental needs, which cannot be catered to in general domestic conditions. We achieve this through the following: -Sanctuary & Care Centre -Health & Wellness Checks -Temporary Care Solutions -Emergency Rescue EDUCATION While the Sanctuary will never turn away an abused, neglected, unwanted small exotic monkey or any monkey should it be in need or distress, we strongly feel that the only way to stop this vicious cycle is through education.
