Mission Statement
Providing digital literacy skills to unemployed township youth, learners, ex-offenders and offenders to facilitate a career in technology and disrupt the cycle of poverty, youth unemployment and crime.
About This Cause
We have created a coding, design, cloud, entrepreneurship and leadership-training programme, adapted for very difficult and resource constrained environments of the township. Our programme is inexpensive to deliver - harnessing the power of peer mentors and drawing on free online programming training platforms and has the potential to be highly scalable. We offer a 1 year free high-value technology training programme to underprivileged youth between the ages of 16-35 years old, training them on latest technology stacks (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AWS and Google Cloud Platform) to build websites and mobile applications, powered and supported by General Assembly NY, Adobe US, Deloitte Belgium, Nedbank Foundation, Shaw Academy, Amazon, TFG, Price Check and local Digital Agencies.
