About This Cause
ABOUT HUMBLE AFRICAN TRUST We are a charity organisation, registered as a Trust in Bulawayo under the Deeds Registry Act of Zimbabwe on the 27th July, 2021. Our registration number is; MA0000251/2021. Our area of operations are Victoria Falls city and all the outlying rural communities under the Hwange Rural District Council's jurisdiction. Our Vision Humble African Trust envisions a society where where all people in diverse communities enjoy healthy, peaceful, secure, productive and enlightened lives in harmony with an environment that promotes their social, cultural, economic and moral development. Such united communities should be actively involved in matters of climate action through participation in local environmental conservation and improvement efforts. Our Aims & Objectives As Humble African Trust, we aim to achieve all or part of the following goals; - to help the poor, the disabled and vulnerable people in our targeted communities, paying particular attention to children, the youth, the elderly, single mothers and disabled persons. - to promote the well being of humanity through establishing or assisting in the establishment by government or other organisations, of diverse peaceful community development projects. - to source and give donations, subscriptions and contributions to deserving organisations or individuals for healthcare, education, social welfare needs or public area improvement. - to avail food, clothing, shelter, education and healthcare to every child from vulnerable backgrounds. - to economically empower women through education and establishment of self help projects in every community - to ignite human compassion and tolerance between different peoples - to further awareness on drug, alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape, discrimination, HIV and STIs, teenage sexual activity and pregnancy, environmental conservation and general wellbeing. - to establish youth and community skills training centres in various communities for different professions and life skills. What We Are Doing Now... The Founder of Humble African Trust donates a percentage of their profits from their t-shirt design and printing business towards some of the charity activities of the Trust, for example the payment of urgent medical expenses for some of the residents at the local home for the aged and destitute in Chinotimba Township, Victoria Falls. We offer designs and printing services to the tourists visiting Victoria Falls. - Humble African Trust collects clothing and essentials from people with excess and then distributes to Chinotimba Home for the aged and destitute as well as the to different groups of vulnerable people in the city and nearby villages. - We are building an art and life skills training centre in the village of Monde; about 15 minutes drive from Victoria Falls city. The Monde Art and Craft Centre aims to use art to attract individual and community development for the people of Victoria Falls, Monde village and other outlying villages. The Centre will offer different art courses for children, youth and talented adults, exposing talent and availing different materials and media to the participants for their development and confidence building. Our aim is to bring out the best of what would otherwise go to waste as the local communities lack materials and direction in a lot of artistic disciplines. Already we have built 5 learning shelters in the centre that need to be equipped with different artistic tools and everything to help us start the different arts educational programmes for the Centre. Here is a breakdown of the art genres we have so far identified as obvious to start with; Drawing and painting, Animation and cartoon creation, CAD, Music and dance, Wood and stone sculpture, poetry, film and drama, photography, pattern making and fashion design, textile design, pottery and anything creative is welcome at the Centre. At the same Centre we want to offer short life skills training courses for aspiring vulnerable individuals in micro businesses and market farming practices. We will have courses in chicken breeding for meat and eggs, goat and pig rearing, market and home gardening for markets in Victoria Falls and within the villages. Our system for training will be rotary to allow us to accommodate different people who should go on to share their gained knowledge with their communities. It will be a continuous programme that can be evaluated from time to time to make sure that our aid achieves the aims and objectives of our Trust. The Monde Art and Craft Centre is already open to tourists visiting Victoria Falls; we want the international community to participate in this monumental journey and we aim to build a gallery and performance stage there to showcase different artistic creations from our students and supporting artists, creating income for all involved in a just price range. Humble African Trust also has a local and international volunteer programme to help us with our different projects, Monde Art and Craft Centre building and setting up being the main one at the moment. Good news for all! We are designing international cultural and skills exchange programmes to expose local cultures to the outer world and invite the world to share theirs with us through our projects at Monde Art and Craft Centre.
